Terms and Conditions
Last updated 20 October 2026.
Mobile Smart Repairs Oldham is run by Dean Seville. These terms cover each cosmetic repair we do on your car, at the address we have arranged together. We are a mobile service only: there is no garage or unit where vehicles are dropped off or left with us.
How is my price worked out?
We base it on your photos and the details you give us, and it remains subject to us seeing the car. To keep it accurate, please:
- photograph every area of damage you want repaired;
- tell us if a panel has been repaired or resprayed before.
Sometimes the damage looks different in person. If that changes the method or the cost, we will explain what has changed and wait for your go-ahead before doing anything extra that you would pay for. Turning down a revised price is entirely your right.
When is a booking confirmed?
Once we have agreed four things with you: the work, the day, the address and whether a booking fee applies. On the day the car should be parked somewhere legal and safe, with working room on every side. If the ground is not yours, the owner must have agreed to the repair taking place.
Rain, cold, an unsuitable site or damage that proves unsuited to a mobile repair can mean moving the date or recommending another route. We will let you know of any significant change at the earliest reasonable opportunity.
Do you take a booking fee?
Sometimes. Where a fee is needed, we say so up front and explain two things: whether it comes off your invoice, and what happens to it should you cancel. Cancelling does not automatically forfeit it.
What if you arrive and can’t start?
If we turn up for a confirmed booking and the work cannot begin for a reason within your control, such as the keys or the car not being available, we may ask for a reasonable call-out charge. It is capped at £100, it is never more than the loss we genuinely could not avoid, and we look at your circumstances and do what we can to reduce that loss.
How do I cancel or rearrange?
Give us the earliest notice possible, by call, text or WhatsApp. For contracts agreed at a distance or away from business premises, the statutory cancellation rights remain in place. If you want us to begin inside that cancellation window, we will set out in advance what you might owe.
How do I pay?
The amount due is the figure on your quote or invoice. You may settle it with PayPal or Klarna. Instalment and pay-later plans are arranged by the provider, not by us, and depend on its own checks, terms and repayment timetable, all shown to you before you sign up. There is more on our PayPal and Klarna page.
What do you repair, and what if it can’t be done?
We take on suitable cosmetic work at the agreed address: dents, scratches, scuffed bumpers and damage to painted alloy wheels. Occasionally an underlying fault, concealed damage or the existing paint makes a durable repair impossible. We will tell you the reason, and the work only continues if you are happy for it to.
Which warranty do I get?
All work is done with reasonable care and skill. On top of that:
- Bodywork and paint repairs carry our Lifetime Ownership Warranty. It belongs to whoever owns the vehicle on the day we finish, begins that day and runs until that person stops owning it. Selling the car, or any other change of keeper, brings it to an end; it is not transferable. It applies to the repaired area only.
- Painted alloy wheel repairs sit outside the Lifetime Ownership Warranty. Instead, each has a one-year workmanship warranty from the day of completion.
What does the warranty cover?
Faults in the repaired area caused by our own workmanship: how we prepped the surface, and how we mixed, laid down or cured each product. Examples are filler, primer, colour or lacquer failing because of how we did the job. A defective product that has nothing to do with our workmanship is outside both warranties, though that does not reduce your statutory rights over materials we supply. Anything on the list below is covered only if our workmanship was the cause.
What isn’t covered?
- Rust and corrosion.
- Fresh stone chips, scratches, scuffs or dents after the repair.
- Everyday wear and tear, and harm from outside causes.
- Acids, harsh or highly alkaline cleaners, solvents and abrasive products.
- Brushes in automatic car washes, steam cleaning, and pressure washers used at high pressure, close up or aimed straight at edges, chips or damaged paint.
- Damage that ignoring our aftercare advice caused or made worse.
- Rust or corrosion that was already there, including hidden rust, rust behind panels, under filler or along seams.
- Work done before we arrived, including another repairer's filler, primer or paint.
- Failure of the original surface beneath our repair, where we were not to blame.
- Fading and age, the weather, flying grit and stones, knocks, vandalism, bird mess, sap from trees and airborne fallout.
Corroded metal is never repaired by us, at any stage. Ordinary hand or machine washing does not cancel your cover. We judge each fault on its own cause, so a chip or scratch elsewhere has no bearing on a separate defect in our work. None of these exclusions applies if the fault results from poor workmanship by us.
How do I look after the repair, and how do I claim?
Follow the curing and care notes from your technician. Acids, aggressive chemicals and abrasives should stay away from the repair, and a jet wash nozzle should never be held right up against it. If you spot a problem with our work, tell us promptly and include photos, the registration and your invoice or repair details. Ideally we will see the repair before any other repairer works on it. Where the fault is covered, we put it right free of charge for both labour and materials, within a reasonable period and without significant inconvenience to you. Your other legal remedies are unaffected.
Your rights under the law
This version of our warranty applies to repairs agreed from 20 October 2026. Any warranty or right granted under an earlier agreement stays as it was. Your legal rights come first and our warranties are extra. By law the work must be done with reasonable care and skill, using materials of satisfactory quality, and no promise on this page reduces or swaps out those entitlements. No part of these terms limits a liability that the law says cannot be limited.
