Mobile smart repair FAQs, Oldham.

Getting a car ready to sell or hand back, what we can fix, prices, the visit itself and our warranty.

Selling, part-exchange and lease returns

Should I repair my car before selling it?

It’s entirely your choice. Small scratches and scuffs stand out in listing photos and on viewings, so many sellers like to know the cost first. Send pictures through our free quote form for a fixed price.

Can you help before a lease or PCP car goes back?

Yes, with cosmetic damage such as scuffs, scratches, small dents and kerbed painted alloys. Your agreement and its return guide decide what the finance company looks for, so read those first, then send us photos of anything you want repaired.

Can you tell me what the leasing company will charge?

No. Charges are set by your own agreement and the company that owns the car. We give you a fixed repair price, so you have a figure of your own to compare.

How far ahead should I book before a hand-back?

As soon as you know the date. A couple of weeks gives you a choice of weekdays and leaves room to rearrange if the weather turns.

What we repair

S.M.A.R.T keeps coming up. In plain English, what is it?

Small to Medium Area Repair Technology. We repair and refinish just the damaged part of a panel instead of painting all of it, so the job is quicker and costs less.

Which jobs suit a mobile visit?

Paint scratches and chips, bumper scuffs, shallow dents and kerb marks on painted alloy wheels. Pictures let us confirm your particular damage is one we can finish on site.

What is outside your service?

We leave rust and corrosion alone, along with structural or major crash damage. On wheels, we don’t take on diamond-cut finishes, cracks, buckles or colour changes. If a bodyshop is the better option we’ll say. Our car body repair page goes into detail.

Will the paint match the rest of the car?

Colour is mixed to your car’s paint code, then faded into the surrounding paint so there’s no hard edge. Mention any old respray or special finish on that panel.

Prices and payment

How do I get a price?

Send your details, car, postcode and photos of each mark through the quote page. Once we’re satisfied it can be done on site, a fixed figure comes back to you.

Can’t you just tell me roughly over the phone what a scuff costs?

Not reliably. Two scratches that sound alike can need very different work, so pictures come first.

We’ve got two cars with marks. One quote?

Yes. Send photos of both, label which car each picture belongs to, and we’ll quote them together.

Which payment methods can I use?

PayPal or Klarna once you’ve accepted the quote, subject to the provider approving you. See how payment works.

The repair visit

When do you work?

We carry out repairs and answer messages Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Anything sent outside those times gets a reply on the next working day.

Do you come up to Saddleworth?

Yes, including Uppermill, Delph, Diggle and Greenfield. The full list is on our areas covered page.

What space do you need?

A driveway or private car park where we can get all the way round the car, a spot for the van, and mains power close by. Working on a public highway isn’t an option for us.

What happens in wet or freezing weather?

Wet or very cold air spoils fresh paint. When the forecast looks wrong for painting, we ring ahead and offer another day.

Can I change my booking?

Yes. Give us as much notice as you can and we’ll offer another day.

Warranty and insurance

Are you insured?

Yes, our work on customers’ cars is insured wherever we carry it out. Meet the people behind the repairs.

What warranty do I get?

For paint and body repairs, the Lifetime Ownership Warranty runs until the car is no longer yours. Painted alloy wheel repairs are covered for a year. Rust, corrosion and problems caused by earlier repairs or materials from others are excluded. Exact conditions: see our warranty terms.

PRICE IT UP

Selling, swapping or handing back?
Know the cost first.

Tell us the make, model and registration, add the postcode where the car sleeps and attach a few phone pictures of each mark.

Dean or one of the technicians studies them and comes back with one fixed figure covering everything you listed.

PHOTO GUIDE

Three shots
tell us plenty.

  • The whole corner

Stand a few paces back so the frame shows the mark plus a headlamp, wheel or door handle for scale.

  • A sharp close-up

Tap the screen to focus on the damage itself; blurry pictures tend to lead to a cautious price.

  • Low along the side

Crouch near the rear lamp and shoot down the flank. Reflections reveal how deep a dent really is.

Getting the car ready to sell or return?

Walk round it once and photograph every mark you’ve spotted, so a single visit can clear the lot.
