What to expect in your part of Oldham

Wherever you are, the basics stay the same: private ground, elbow room around the car, a place for the van and mains power. Local streets shape how that plays out.

Oldham town centre, Werneth and Coldhurst

Streets of Victorian terraces leave many cars parked at the kerb, which rules out a repair right there because we never work on a public highway. Borrowing a relative’s driveway or using a private or workplace car park gets round it. Tight spaces in the Spindles and around the Royal Oldham Hospital account for plenty of bumper corner scuffs.

Chadderton and Hollinwood

With junctions 21 and 22 of the M60 on the doorstep, many people here drive to work, and the business parks around Hollinwood have big car parks. A repair while you’re at your desk works well if the site agrees. Car park door dings are common here.

Royton, Shaw and Crompton

Mostly semis and estates with drives, so a home visit is simple. Elk Mill retail park beside the A627(M) is a regular source of trolley knocks and scraped corners.

Failsworth

Between Failsworth Pole and the M60, homes are a mix of terraces and drives. Tell us your parking and we’ll plan round it. Scratch repairs on doors and wings are a frequent request.

Lees, Springhead and Grotton

The roads climb towards the moors here, and parking tight to high kerbs on a slope often leaves grazed alloy wheels. Most homes have a drive or a shared space.

Uppermill, Delph, Diggle and Greenfield

In the Saddleworth villages, gritted winter roads and narrow lanes with stone walls mean chips and side scrapes. Weather changes fast up here, so we keep an eye on the forecast and will move the day if it would affect the paint.

Repairs we offer

Scratch and paint repairs: scrapes, light key marks and chips refinished in your colour.

Bumper repairs: corner scrapes and small splits, fixed without swapping the bumper.

Dent removal: shallow dents and dings, judged from photos first.

Alloy wheel repairs: kerb rash on painted alloys.

Mobile bodywork: a full walk-round tidy-up before a sale or hand-back.

Coverage questions

Do Saddleworth villages cost more?

No. The figure we agree already includes coming out to you, wherever in our area you live. If you’re just beyond our listed areas, send your postcode and we’ll check.

Could you fix it while I’m at work?

Yes, provided there’s off-road space and whoever manages the site says it’s fine. Lots of customers book us for a weekday at work.

My car lives on the street outside. Is that a problem?

Not if there’s an off-road alternative: a family driveway, a private car park or your employer’s. Mention whichever you can use.

What if it’s raining in the hills?

Fresh paint and rain don’t mix. If rain or cold would spoil the finish, we’ll rearrange for the next suitable weekday. Our repair FAQs explain more about the visit.

PRICE IT UP

Selling, swapping or handing back?
Know the cost first.

Tell us the make, model and registration, add the postcode where the car sleeps and attach a few phone pictures of each mark.

Dean or one of the technicians studies them and comes back with one fixed figure covering everything you listed.

PHOTO GUIDE

Three shots
tell us plenty.

  • The whole corner

Stand a few paces back so the frame shows the mark plus a headlamp, wheel or door handle for scale.

  • A sharp close-up

Tap the screen to focus on the damage itself; blurry pictures tend to lead to a cautious price.

  • Low along the side

Crouch near the rear lamp and shoot down the flank. Reflections reveal how deep a dent really is.

Getting the car ready to sell or return?

Walk round it once and photograph every mark you’ve spotted, so a single visit can clear the lot.
